ERCHA/NRCHA Pre Futurity 2023: second day of competitions in Travagliato (Italy)

The second competition day of the European Reined Cow Horse Association Pre Futurity featured a full day of herd work. All Ages class is followed by Bridle Spectacular and by the special event reserved to 3-4 year old horses showed two handed in snaffle bit.

Herdwork All Ages

Swiss rider Christoph Seiler rode CR Rosie The Riveter (Woody Be Tuff x Gipsy Rose Rey), an 8 year-old mare owned by Kathi Gfeller and bred by Center Ranch, to a score of 72 to win the Herdwork All Ages Open class. “I’m actually preparing her for the Nations Cup competition in Americana so today I’m happy because she was on the cow, quiet and listening to me. I cannot ask more.”

Seiler also placed second on his other horse only half point behind on Chics Smart Colonel (Mr Colonel Smart x Chics Olena Baby).

In the Herdwork All Ages Non Pro class, Germany didn’t hold anything back and when the class was over, it was Kerstin Breitenbach who stepped to the top of the podium after scoring 71 aboard her 5-year-old mare MA Liones Cat (SDP Justice Is Comin x Trust In Me Today). “This was really a needed win for me, I know that she can do a good herd work. Too many times I was the problem and so I used these last weeks to work a lot on myself and on my mindset and today I felt good. I had fun and I was quite before, I really have to say a big thank you to Federico Fanti who helps me a lot with her. I still need to work but I’m happy with this result!”

Reserve honours went to Italy with Giorgia Giacone riding her 5-year-old mare Lizzie Little Power (Smart Easy Deal x To Much Powered).

Italian Gianluca Munarini riding Oreyginal Gangsta, 7-year-old gelding sired by Dual Rey and out of Cat Mom Do, owned by Willem Bembom and bred by Holmes & Hill, took the lead in the Herdwork All Ages Open Regional division with a 71 score. “I bring here in Travagliato this horse for schooling him because I want to show him in Americana. Markus (Schopfer ndr) and his staff did a great job with the ground, now it’s really better and the cows are also good, we can work well.

From the United Stated of America Kyla Cook aboard Peter Trixner 6-year-old gelding Boon On A Tuesday (Boon Too Suen x ARC Little Rubylena) marked a 69 for the Reserve Champion title.
