The hot weather doesn’t stop the riders who came from all over Europe to compete in the Hackamore Classic special event. The NRCHA Hackamore Classic, is for horses 5 years of age and under that have never been shown in a bridle down the fence at any judged reined cow horse event. Horses are shown in a traditional hackamore with closed reins in herd, rein, and cow work. Champions are crowned today in Travagliato (BS) Italy.

ERCHA/NRCHA Hackamore Classic Open and Level 1 Open

Thirteen Open riders piloted 4/5-year-olds bound for the European Reined Cow Horse Association Hackamore Classic Open. After three hot days of competition, Saturday afternoon the cow work proved the top European horse with a total score of 216 (69/73/74): Boomer Little Uno was ridden by Andrea Sanfelici for owner Cristian Gorni. Boomer Little Uno is a 5-year-old gelding sired by Mister Little Uno and out of Make A Boom.” This is the fourth special event for this horse. He got already three top scores in the rein work, a truly excellent and versatile horse: in fact, it will be shown by its owner at the next show. We had some bad luck in herd work but then things went much better. A good horse, with the right blood, to show with loose reins, fantastic!” These are the words after the award presentation. The pair is Hackamore Classic Open and Level 1 Open Champion.

Samuele Poli Barberis with Easy Smart Boons (Smart Easy Deal x Blue Boons Lil Sue) between the reins are Hackamore Classic Open Reserve Champion with a total of 213.5 (71/70.5/72). Easy Smart Boons is a 5-year-old gelding bred by Le Fattorie di Matilde and owned by Alessandra Bologna.

Co-reserve champion title in the Level 1 Open division for: Marine Richard with Cash Money Master and Patrick Sattler aboard Diamond Lovely Kiss. French rider Marine Richard present Cash Money Master (Master Snapper x Big Spat To Cash) for owner Four Season Ranch, the total score is a 206.5 (69/67.5/70). Patrick Sattler riding for German, Diamonds Lovely Kiss: a 5-year-old Paint Horse mare owned by Johanna and Franz Vorraber, with a total of 206.5 (66/69.5/71).

ERCHA/NRCHA Hackamore Classic Non Pro and Level 1 Non Pro

Riding to a 210 (67.5/69.5/73), Bet Hesa Wildcat (Bet Hesa Cat x Lil Peptorella), a 5-year-old gelding who carried her rider Sabine Brasche to the Hackamore Classic Non Pro Champion title. “I feel from the beginning that he is an hackamore horse and I think today he improved this. In the fence work he is perfect! Herd work was not so good but today he is great.” Commented the German rider.

Riding to a 202 (68/69/65), A Nite With Marilyn (Gunners Special Nite x LDL Marilyn Chex), bred and owned by Alessia Campi, carried his rider Nicola Succu to the Hackamore Classic Non Pro co-reserve champion and Level 1 Non Pro Champion and titles. “In these days I understand that I have to train more myself, my horse is simply perfect but I need to improve something in my riding abilities. I really want to thank all the Jacopo Ranch staff, my trainer Giovanni Campanaro and for sure Giacomo Caruso and his family.” Said Nicola after his run.

Taking the Reserve Champion spot in both Non Pro and Level 1 Non Pro divisions was Kerstin Breitenbach riding Ma Liones Cat (SDP Justice Is Comin x Trust In Me Today) with a 202 score (71/67.5/63.5).

ERCHA/NRCHA Hackamore Classic Non Pro Boxing

Giulia Costelli was draw one in the Hackamore Classic cow work. After the final whistle blew Giulia and Brownie Lady marked a 209 (70/6871) to earn the title. Brownie Lady is a 5-year-old mare bred by Maurizio Battista Sandei, sired by Smart Rey Pepto and out of DB Cats Sweet Lady. “ For me she is the best non pro horse, always kind and easy, she gives you all the possibilities to understand. For us this is the first time in bosal. I want to say thank you to my trainer Pietro Tuberga.” Commented Giulia during the awards presentation.

Reserve Champion title went to Pauline Brogli from Switzerland and her VH Captain Badger (Diamond Cat Fifty x Starlight Toga), a 5-year-old gelding, finish with a total 203 (68/66.5/68.5).
