 ERCHA HACKAMORE CLASSIC 2016: It’s Poland time for ERCHA!

Philipp Martin Haug took the lead in the Hackamore Classic Open and Limited Open

The third limited aged event of the European Reined Cow Horse Association was held in Karpacz – Poland from 18th to 19th June 2016. A great number of horses is judged by the international judge Mauro Taccia from Italy with Sandra Quade as scribe. Athletes from all over the Europe showed his great horses on this edition of ERCHA Hackamore Classic.

Western City the city of Real Cowboys in Ściegny near Karpacz is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the region of Jelenia Góra in Poland. Its attractiveness lies not only on the specific nature of this place, for the originality of this form of entertainment, but mainly on the uniqueness of guaranteed guests to experience.

Anyone here can move in time to the world of sheriffs, gunslingers and gold seekers. Crossing the gate Western City you can discover infact the Old Wild West.

Western City was founded in 1998, July 4th, the anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, the owner and the Sheriff of the city – Jerzy Pokoj inside the air officially opened Western City for the world. The town has an area of approx. 65 hectares, the greater part of which are extensively pastures for cattle and horses.

The German professional Philipp Martin Haug riding Franz Kuenkel’s Snapper Lil Bingo (Peptos Lil Bingo x Snappers Victoria), took the lead in the Hackamore Classic Open with a total score of 216 (71 herd/72 rein/73 cow). The pair was very good in the Open and Limited Open division after the firsts two events and this is a very good show for they: “I’m very happy. This is a very nice horse and he confirm to be such a nice horse each time!” On the second step of the podium we find Markus Schopfer who placed his Dual Chic SQVR, a 5-years-old gelding by Mister Dual Pep and out of A Vintage Chic by A Sparkling Vintage. The total of the pair is a 215.5 (73 herd/70.5 rein/72 cow).

132 is the total of the Reserve Champion of the Limited Open division that was Tomas Barta with Karl Simon’s Miss Boogie Tari (67 herd/0 rein/65 cow). This 4-year-old mare is by Boogie Boon and out of Docs Miss San Tari.

In the Non Pro and Limited Non Pro divisions the winner is Caroline Baudinger with her Surley A Peptocat (Surely A Pepto x Son Miss Buffy) between the reins. The total is a good 199 (60 herd/68 rein/71 cow). “I can’t be happier. We train a lot in this period and finally the result is arrived. I want to thank my trainer, Markus Schopfer, for everything he did with my horse from the time he arrived from the States.” commented the Austrian rider after the awards ceremony. Reserve Champion titles in both divisions went to Peter Kun and his CR Sassylittlelegeng (Little Lenas Legend x Pepadita) with a total of 198.5 points behind the winner (63 herd/68.5 rein/67 cow).

Talk Hungarian again the Novice Amateur division of the Hackamore Classic, Peter Kun and his CR Sassylittlelegend took the lead with a score of 201.5 (63 herd/68.5 rein/70 boxing). “Despite some problems with our trailer during the journey, we arrived in Poland! I am very happy and my horse behaves always good. I cannot wait to be able to present her at the ERCHA Pre Futurity in August.” On the second step of the podium we find again Caroline Baudinger and Surley A Peptocat with a 198 (60 herd/68 rein/70 boxing).

The third stage of the ERCHA/NRCHA 2016 championship

Tomas Barta and Hot Tec Dream, 7-years-old gelding owned by Birgitte Locher won the Novice Horse Open class with a 136.5 (69.5 rein/67 cow). The owner of Western City Jercy Pokoj and Golden Funny Chex were also Reserve Champions in this division with a score of 135.5 (71.5 rein/64 cow). In the Novice Horse Non Pro division the winner is Vaclav Vacik who showed his appaloosa GF Maggie Smart (Black Magic 497 x JW Jody Sue) with a total of 131.5 (69.5 rein/65.5 cow).

In the Two Rein Open, the fist NRCHA approved class, Markus Schopfer riding Spat Sailor Lena (Spat Olena x Heidi Sailor) owned by Jeannette Krahenbuhl won with 146 points (73 rein/73 cow).

Always Markus Schopfer at the top of the Open Hackamore but this time with Dual Chic SQVR between the reins. Their total is a 139.5 (71.5 rein/68 cow). In the regional division Alena Buriankova and Safaris Boon are the Champions with a score of 126 (66 rein/60 cow).

In the Novice Riders the winner is Peter Kun with Red Pep Whiz (Little Bo Badger x Misah Whiz) a great sorrel gelding that made happy is rider with a total of 140.5 (70.5 rein/70 boxing). Second place honors went again to Birgit Locker and Hot Tec Dream, 131.5 was their total (64.5 rein/67 boxing).

In the Open Bridle and in the Limited Open Bridle the winner this time is again Philipp Martin Haug with the great sorrel gelding Peppy Steppin Jac owned by Jens Golz. The total score is a 143 (70 rein/73 cow). On the second place of the Open we can find Markus Schopfer with Spat Sailor Lena with the score of 142.5 (72.5 rein/70 cow). In the regional division the winner is Tomas Barta with the pain stallion Smokin Cowboy SB, owned by Stefan Borocz, with the total of 138 (68 rein/70 cow). Reserve Champion honors went to Vaclav Vacik and MA Starfighter (Starligh Elan x My Mom Won It All), their total was a 130 (68 rein/62 cow). Tomas Barta took the second place honors also in the Limited Open Bridle of the European Championship. Champion title in the Limited Open regional is for Ondrej Houska and the stallion This Cats Light (WR This Cat Smart x Grays Missylight).

Title of Non Pro Bridle Champion for Peter Kun and Smart Blackbird (Smart Little Lena x Badge Of Courage). Their total score is a 132 (67 rein/65 cow). Andrea Popp placed first in the regional division on Sugars Smartest Lena (Frozen Sailor x Peppys Lena Doc) with 137 points (70 rein/67 cow).

The Herdwork All Ages Open regional is dominated by Tomas Barta riding Hot Tec Dream and with Smokin Cowboy SB. He took the first two position in this division. Polish rider Pawel Paliwoda won the Non Pro regional with his Pretty Lil Sam and also placed second with Sugar Leo Slena together wih Dariusz Stolarczyk with Bubba Jay between the reins. In the European Non Pro Herdwork All Ages the winner is Peter Kun and CR Sassylittlelegend.

The appointment with the next show of the European Reined Cow Horse Association will be the Pre Futurity on August in Italy. Stay tuned!
