PRE FUTURITY 2016: young horses in action!

Giovanni Campanaro won the Pre Futurity Open

The fourth limited aged event of the European Reined Cow Horse Association was held in Travagliato (BS) Italy from 6th to 7th August 2016. The judge was Jan Boogaerts from Belgium helped by Otto De Fazio as scribe.

The young professional Giovanni Campanaro from Italy riding Alessandro Tugnoli’s Smart Easy Boon (Smart Easy Deal x OT Boompeep) took the lead in the Pre Futurity Open with a total score of 216 (70 herd/72 rein/74 cow). The pair was on their first show in the working cow horse circuit. Lucia Carnevaletti, Tugnoli’s wife, talk about this fantastic sorrel stallion: “I really wanted this horse, finally in the month of April we bought him from Vittorio Rabboni. Alessandro tried him at home with the cows and immediately we decided to bring him in training with Giovanni”. On the second step of the podium Markus Schopfer placed Eliane Gfeller’s Magic Nu Cash a 4-years-old gelding by Chics Magic Potion and out of Tuf Little Chex. The total of the pair is a 213.5 (72 herd/70.5 rein/71 cow).

The Limited Open division is dominated by the Italian professional Andrea Santini with SQH srl’s ANS Cash For Wyatt between the reins. The composite score of the pair is a 205.5 (73 herd/64.5 rein/68 cow). The Reserve Champion in this division was Alessandro Coppari with his CH Miss Remi Chex: 204 is their total (67 herd/69.5 rein/67.5 cow).

In the Non Pro division the winner is Marco Piersanti with his Dark Little Lena Mr (Zan It In The Dark x Macey Smartest) between the reins. The total is a good 208.5 (66 herd/70 rein/72.5 cow). “I really don’t expect to win… This is just my only second special event ever with this horse. I can’t believe yet!” commented the Italian rider after the awards ceremony. Reserve Champion honors went to Stefano Cassani and his Thaz Money (ARC Tora Tora x Making Major Money) with a total of 202 (65 herd/69 rein/68 cow).

Talk Swiss the Novice Amateur division of the Pre Futurity, Shirley Schalcher and her Snapper Me Haida (Spanish Snapper x Haidas Chic Olena) took the lead with a score of 130 (60 herd/0 rein/70 boxing).

The fourth stage of the ERCHA/NRCHA 2016 championship

Shirley Schalcher and Big And Sweet BB, 5-years-old stallion won the Novice Horse Open class with a 138 (70 rein/68 cow). Fabio Fossa and Cobra Tarissurprise were Reserve Champions in this division with a total of 133.5 (68.5 rein/65 cow).

In the Two Rein Open, the fist NRCHA approved class, Markus Schopfer riding Spat Sailor Lena (Spat Olena x Heidy Sailor) owned by Jeannette Krahenbuhl won with 143 (73 rein/70 cow). Andrea Ambrogiani and GF Shine For Me took the lead in the Two Rein Non Pro division with a 141.5 (70 rein/71.5 cow). On the second step of the podium we find Peter Kun and Red Pep Whiz with a 127 score.

Always Markus Schopfer at the top of the Open Hackamore but this time with Surley A Peptocat between the reins. Their total is a 140.5 (70 rein/70.5 cow). Mirko Viviani placed second with Enterprise Dude and the score of 136 (67.5 rein/68.5 cow).

The Open Bridle class was also the last step before the Nations Cup (that will be held in the beginning of September in Mooslargue), and the winner this time is Markus Schopfer with the great sorrel stallion Peptos Lil Bingo (Peptoboonsmal x Conchita Gay Bingo) owned by Markus same. The total score is a 147.5 (71.5 rein/76 cow). On the second place of the Open but on the first of the Limited Open division we can find Stefano Chiari with his Buenomax (Buenonic Chex x Pidgeon Poo), another great mare with the score of 140 (70 rein/70 cow).

The Youth Novice Riders is dominated again by Elena Ferrari with Cuttin Memphis between the reins, thanks to their total of 138.5 (68.5 rein/70 cow).

In the Novice Riders the winner is Camilla Massa with Chico Believer a grey gelding that made happy is rider with a total of 144 (71 rein/73 boxing). Second place honors went to again to Elena Ferrari and Cuttin Memphis. In the regional division of this class the winner was Camilla Surprise with Anthony Papa in saddle, the pair marked a total of 138.5 (69.5 rein/69 boxing). Silvia Manfredi and ARC Dualin Surprise are Reserve Champions with a 134.5 (68.5 rein/66 boxing).

The Herdwork All Ages class is held on Sunday morning, a good number of riders showed their horses in this class. And this time the winner of the Open Division is Roberto Marchi with Mr Max Hickory Lenas between the reins and the score of 73. Markus Schopfer and Peptos Lil Bingo placed second only one half point behind the winner. In the Non Pro the best rider was Caroline Baudinger this time with Cd Miss N Cat and the score of 71. Then we can find Carlotta Zigiotti and her Miss Snapper Hickory on the second step of the podium with a 69.5 score. In the regional Non Pro division the winner is Dario Orsini and Huntin In The Dark with a good 72 score. Four points behind we can find Shirley Schalcher and Big And Sweet BB.

Double title of Non Pro Limited and Non Pro Bridle Champion for Claudio Ferrami and Snapplicious. On the first class their total score is a 142 (70 rein/72 cow) and in the second one is a 141 (70 rein/71 cow). Martina Grassi placed second in the Non Pro Bridle with her Frozen Peppys Lena between the reins. On the second step of the podium of the Non Pro Limited Bridle we find again Camilla Massa with Chico Believer. In the Non Pro Bridle regional the winner is Shirley Schalcher and Big And Sweet BB with 140.5 points (70.5 rein/70 cow). Cleo Pugnetti and Thaz a Boy took the lead in the Non Pro Limited regional with a score of 137 (71 rein/66 cow).

Novice Horse Non Pro champion honors went again to Andrea Ambrogiani riding his GF Shine For me. The pair scored a 143.5 total (70.5 rein/73 cow). Cleo Pugnetti and Thaz a Boy were second in this class with a 139.5 (69.5 rein/70 cow).

The appointment with the next show of the European Reined Cow Horse Association will be the Nations Cup and Futurity plus 5th stage of ERCHA/NRCHA Championship on September in Mooslargue. Stay tuned!
