Samuele Poli won the 2015 Ercha Derby Open with Cats Got Freckles
The second limited aged event for the 2015 season of European reined Cow Horse Association was held at the Salone del Cavallo Americano of Reggio Emilia in the third week of May. The Derby is a show open to horses aged 4 and 5 in snafflebit with two hands.
They performed in this special event as many as 25 riders: 14 in the open class, 7 in that no pro 5 in the Limited Non Pro, while they were in 3 and 7 in the limited open class in the newly formed novice amateurs. Entirely judged by Judge Eugenio Latorre with scribe Alessandro Meconi.
Samuele Poli and Cats Got Freckles win the title of Open Open Derby Champion Edition 2015. This beautiful stallion born in 2010 and owned by Luca Terzi with whom he also played the Derby Non Pro, is ridden by Samuel since his arrival from the United States. Arrived in Italy at the end of three years, he son of WR This Cats Smart with mum Playboys Girl.
The total score of this fantastic combination is excellent: a 293.5 (72 herd / 72.5 rein / 76 cow / 74 cow final) by which the combination was proclaimed Derby Open 2015 champion: “I’m really happy tonight,” says Samuel after the award “Cats Got Freckles is a fantastic horse and tonight gave me proof of it again.”
The duo consists of Giovanni Campanaro and Oaks Lone Pepto owned by Vittorio Rabboni heeled closely Poli, getting second place in the Open Derby thanks to the total score of 292.5 (73 herd / 71.5 rein / 74 cow / cow 74 final).
In the Limited Open division winner was the pair composed of Davide Di Giacinto and Starlit Huntress, beautiful chestnut female 4 years old (Starlight Elan x Sweet Huntress). The rider from Abruzzo – Italy was the author of three tests very clean for a total of 212 points (70 herd / 70 rein / 72 cow), score by which flew directly at the top of the Limited Open division. Second place in this division went to the German trainer Philipp Martin Haug who presented DK Dancing Boys Smokey, beautiful stallion paint 5 years of ownership of the Silver Rock Ranch who finished with a total of 210.5 (68 herd / 69.5 rein / 73 cow).
The title of Non Pro Derby Champion went to Sabine Brasche and Peptomoonsmal (Pepto Zone x Lil Peptorella), through ownership. The pair scored a rating of 72 in the herd work, a 68 in the rein work and ended with a 66 in the cow work and even a 67 in the cow work for a final total of 273 points. The newly formed duo was undisputed ruler of the Non Pro class. “In Italy I found a perfect organization, I enjoyed it so much and my horse again behaved well.”
The Non Pro Derby Reserve Champions are Daniele Giacchè and his Genuinenic by Remilore and out of Zarina Doc. The duo marked a total of 271 points (63 herd/69 rein/71 cow/68 finals cow).
The winner of the Derby Limited Non Pro Sivori Lorenzo is riding his LF Double Dark Lady. The female 5-year quarter horse totaled a score of 209.5 (69 herd / 68.5 rein / 72 cow). Second in the Derby Limited Non Pro is young Daniele Giacchè, riding Genuinenic (Remilore x Zarina Doc) gets a score of 203 (63 herd / 69 rein / 71 cow) that leads directly to the second step of the podium of this special event.
