NRCHA/ERCHA Hackamore Classic Champions crowned

Markus Schopfer rides Anna Lil Peptos to Hackamore Classic Open Championship and Loris Raffagnato took the Championship honors in the Non Pro division.

It was an emotional win, and another milestone on a long and sometimes painful comeback journey for Markus Schopfer, Turin, Italy, who ride his 4-year-old mare, Anna Lil Peptos (Peptos Lil Bingo x Cathleena Enterprise) to the European Reined Cow Horse Association Hackamore Classic Open Championship on Sunday, June 15 in Padova, Italy at the beautiful facility Ca’ Masiero Ranch.

Schopfer guided Anna Lil Peptos to a total 213 score (72 herd/69 rein/72 cow), earning $1,230. The Hackamore Classic title also came with a big ribbon from the ERCHA; a cooler from Reny Coperte; and a big bronze trophy offered by ERCHA.

Anna Lil Peptos is particularly special to Markus Schopfer; her father has played a significant role in his competitive career and his personal life. In 2008, Schopfer rode Peptos Lil Bingo to the NRCHA World Championship Show in Stephenville.

Anna Lil Peptos’s dam, Cathleena Enterprise out of ARC Desert Storm, was a fantastic cutting horse. He thanked his herd help. Schopfer also credited his friends Massimo Milano for agreeing to sell Anna Lil Peptos to him in trade.

The Hackamore Classic Open Reserve Champion was again Markus Schopfer, who guided this time Dry Serenade (Gallo Del Cielo x Nitas Last Dry) to a total 211 score (70 herd/71 rein/70 cow). The 2008 mare is owned by Jeronimo Bruno. The Reserve placing came wtih a $816 check.
